Sea Fox was founded in 1995 by Freddy Renken, a third-generation boat builder from Charleston, South Carolina. Today the Renken family still runs the company, with a fourth generation on the team. Every Sea Fox has a composite hull and deck and is backed by a limited lifetime hull warranty. Here’s what goes into a Sea Fox, and the questions to ask before you buy any saltwater fishing boat.
Call us at 386-873-4610 or stop by the lot in DeLand to see the Sea Fox lineup in person.
These are the questions we’d ask about any saltwater fishing boat, answered for a Sea Fox.
A center console gives you 360-degree fishing room and the range to run offshore. A dual console adds a walk-through windshield and more seating up front for family days. A bay boat draws less water, so you can fish the flats and the backcountry. Sea Fox builds all three, so we can match the boat to the water you fish.
It depends on how far you run and how many people you bring. Tell us where you fish (inshore, nearshore or offshore), how big your crew is and what you tow with, and we’ll help you find the right fit.
Every Sea Fox has a rated horsepower range. We rig Sea Fox boats with Yamaha outboards and match the power to how far and how often you run, not to a sales goal.
We also build boats at different power levels so there’s a price for every budget. Our 268 Commanders, for example, come rigged with either Yamaha 150s or Yamaha 200s, so you can choose the setup that fits how you fish and what you want to spend.
Every Sea Fox has a composite hull and deck, protected by a vinyl ester barrier coat under the gelcoat, and Sea Fox boats meet or exceed U.S. Coast Guard standards. See “Built to fish” below for more.
Sea Fox backs its hulls with a limited lifetime structural warranty for the original owner, transferable once to a second owner for the first 10 years. You also get 5 years of hull blister coverage and a 2-year parts warranty.* In the rare case you ever need it, our factory-certified technicians take care of Sea Fox warranty work right here in our shop.

Sea Fox’s goal is simple: build the best quality boats at a fair price, designed with the serious angler in mind without giving up comfort for friends and family.
Three generations of boatbuilding. Freddy Renken’s grandfather, Walter “Palsey” Renken, started Renken Boat Company in 1957. Freddy founded Sea Fox in 1995, and the family still runs it today, with fourth-generation builders on the team.
Composite hull and deck. Every Sea Fox is built with a composite hull and deck.
A vinyl ester barrier coat. A vinyl ester barrier coat goes under the gelcoat to protect the hull.
Saltwater-ready hardware. Stainless steel fasteners and through-hulls on models like the 288 Commander.
Designed by anglers. Sea Fox’s leaders fish tournaments and boat with their families, and they design every boat around both. That’s why you’ll find features like pressurized aquarium livewells, insulated fish boxes and recessed electric trim tabs molded right into the hull.
Built to meet or exceed Coast Guard standards. Every Sea Fox meets or exceeds U.S. Coast Guard standards, and Sea Fox has a dedicated engineering and quality-control team overseeing quality, performance and craftsmanship.
Every Sea Fox we sell is rigged, inspected and delivered by our own factory-certified service team.
Questions about how a Sea Fox is built? Call us at 386-873-4610.
Limited lifetime structural hull warranty. Covers the fiberglass hull for as long as the original owner owns the boat.*
10 years for a second owner. If you sell your Sea Fox, the hull warranty can be transferred once, covering the next owner through the first 10 years after the original delivery.*
5-year hull blister coverage. Protects against gelcoat blisters below the waterline.*
2-year parts warranty. Covers the parts and components on the boat for the first two years.*
With a composite hull and deck, every Sea Fox is built to stay solid for years on the water.
And in the rare case your Sea Fox ever needs warranty work, you won’t be shipping it back to South Carolina. Our factory-certified technicians take care of it right here in our shop in DeLand.
